Filters & Florals

Before I ramble on, these pics were taken with my Iphone and are dripping in filter juice!
 I apologize for the quality!
*Note to self: Always walk with your camera*  (I swear I usually do)
soooo
I'm baaaaack, and I'm slowly gaining my mojo back * sticks tongue out.  Its starting to warm up so the posts are gonna start rolling in, just bare with me. I have quickly came to the realization that I am floral obsessed! Not too sure why, but the over powering floral pieces in my closet don't lie. I've had this pencil skirt for years and never really felt like I've done it justice till now. I had fun pairing this floral sweater with a pencil skirt.  Although I envisioned these shoes with my outfit, the tan will have to do for now.
Those shoes however are still on my list!

Wearing; Jcrew- sweater,  H&M- necklace, Aldo- Purse, Zara- heels, Marciano- corset skirt

Love the corset detailing on the back of this skirt! Different and refreshing but still classic.

Talk  to you guys real soon
Ciao

SPORTY IN SPRING

Hey guys, its been a while. I promise you my love for blogging has not ended.  This year has been one of the worst and coldest winters here in Toronto, making it impossible to get all dressed up. I love my city, but times like these I would hop on a plane to LA with no regrets.   I think it's safe to say spring is here.  The snow's finally starting to melt and the sun was out this week.  Hope it stays this way
(fingers crossed)

Oh my latest obsession you ask?  Sweatshirts and skirts. I've been living in sweatshirts for the past 6 months ( blame it on the weather) and I must confess I kind of liked it! (who am I becoming?) Since I'm not your typical sporty girl, I paired one of my favourite waffle skirts to balance out the look!
Going back to my high school days I've always been #Team Adidas.  Love how they've reinvented the brand.  The best thing about this look was recreating all my adidas pieces into this fit! Now that springs here, I can't wait to experiment with sweatshirts, pencil skirts and some dainty heels.  Yes I'm all for this.....

Adidas- sweatshirt, sneakers, and clutch  H&M- skirt and necklace, MAC- Embrace me lipstick

Love the texture of this skirt

I didn't last long in this fit.  As the day progressed the temperatures dropped drastically forcing me to change into pants.

This was the initial look, however I was going for comfort, so I slipped out of these and slipped into my sneaks.  A much more sportier look if you ask me.

BLACK AFFAIR

I am always late when it comes to wishing you guys a new year.   Forgive me,  hope 2014 has been good to you all thus far! How fast time flies.  I was looking at my kids,
(my daughter especially) and cant believe she's going to be 11 this year! Time really waits for no one. However, it would be nice if it did, cause there are a few moments I wouldn't mind reliving myself.

Wearing; Zara- blouse, Winners/Marshalls- Necklace, H&M- skirt, BCBG-  ring, belt, Value Village- clutch Christian Louboutin- So Kate, MAC- RiRi Woo

I'm not good for making new years resolutions, and neither do I plan to, BUT what I do plan on doing this year is saving more.  Funny coming from someone with the blog name  "Shop Now Save Later" lol  but yes that's on the top of my list for 2104.  What are some of the things on top of your list?
Do share.

In fashion news, this was what I wore to celebrate a good friends birthday.  I was hesitant on posting these because they were taken inside, so the quality is not all that great. Its been a deep freezer here in Toronto lately. Literally, and I haven't been dressing up much! We're recovering from a really bad ice storm, that left many without heat and electricity (everything you can think of you name it, it was frozen) Its been too cold to even show skin, so I apologize but my posts for january are looking kind of scarce.  I promise though once it warms up a little so will my wardrobe! :)

Talk to you soon....

YING & YANG

A few years ago if you were to mention jogging pants and heels in the same sentence i'd shoot you a look like, what planet are you on? Same goes for socks and heels.  Who would have thought that these fashion faux pas would come back with a vengeance.  However, while I'm totally on board the jogger and heels train, I can't say the same for socks and heels.  Some trends are clearly not for me.
I love the thought of comfort and chic sharing a moment. The results
VOILA!!!

This hat has been my lifesaver as of lately.   A quick fix to not having to deal with the nappy situation thats currently  residing under my hat.

Don't be fooled by the snow, it was gorgeous out today!

Some thing about an ankle cuff heel, I don't know what it is but I like it......

H&M; Fur stole, Cap/  BCBG; Asymmetrical vest, and vke top/  Zara; joggers and heels/

BAD HAIR DAYS, TARTAN & PLAID

I feel like I should be reintroducing my self again, since it has been a while lol.   Hope everyone is looking forward to the christmas holidays and festivities that it brings. Im huge on entertaining and christmas decor. Filling up on egg nog and black cake. ( A west indian tradition)   Its also the only time of year I get to see my old man!

Im not a big fan of plaid, but at $29  how could I leave it? After wearing this blazer for the third week, I might have to say I've had a change of heart. Best of all I didn't have to find that out the expensive way! At just $29.99 I think this was a great piece to add to my closet.

Bad hair days calls for snapbacks, and thats exactly what I did! *shrugs*

Zara-Blazer, H&M- cap, F21- high-low top and necklace  Target-bag, Helmut Lang-leather pants, Chinese Laundry-booties, MAC- RiRi Woo

COAT LADY

It's that time of year again. As the temperature drops, we struggle to remain chic and warm all at the same time! (quite a challenge for few, including myself) However, when choosing a coat for the season, keep in mind the style, your body type, fit, and functionality.

My number one rule when coat shopping is to stay open minded.   It might look terrible on the hanger, but looks amazing on you and vice versa.

You found a coat that you absolutely love, but its two sizes too big? Keep your options open, tailoring is your friend.

If it's your first time purchasing a coat/jacket, ALWAYS start off with  something simple and black BUT classic. A coat that 's been around for years, speaks volumes.  I decided to put together a collage with the main focus being the call of the style coat sold at modcloth.com I love the printed striped down the  middle, and that toggle effect that it gives off.  I decided to pair it with distressed jeans, a splash of tartan and trusty Louboutins.   Accessories to sass up the look and VOILA!
So fall worthy don't you think?

Stay tuned to see how I styled this look using similar items....

Leopard & Lilac

Taking a break from black.  (which I've been wearing all week) It only seems right to commit to black as the temperature drops, but as you know,  I'm never one to turn down a colourful fit.

This skater skirt has got to be one of my old time faves. I've worn it with literally everything this year dressed up and down! If all skirts were made like this one, then I would literally own every colour. HA
Wearing; J.Crew; necklace/ sweater, Zara; sandals/skirt, Aldo; purse

I live for statement necklaces! It can sass up any outfit.  Lately I've been collecting more vintage looking pieces like this one! J.crew is great for that, their pieces are literally to die for and I can never leave the store without one!

Simple Days

Fall is here, and what better way to embrace it, than with leather!  Leather anything excites me! Although I am a fan of wearing leather throughout the seasons, I tend to experiment with it more around fall.  Denim and leather has easily become one of my go to looks! It's simple, classy and never over done.  Lately I've been into more basic/simple looks, I love colour and prints, but I'm having a moment with leather right now!
