Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians and for those of you who have not yet celebrated well Happy thanks giving in advance.
Reflecting back on my Thanksgiving, I have so much to be thankful for. A lot more than we even know or expect. While emptying my remains into the trash, a feeling of guilt came over me. Was I taking for granted what so many people wished they had?
Growing up in my household, we were not allowed to leave the dinner table until we ate everything off our plates. Maybe that was our parents way of teaching us not to be wasteful and instead be thankful for what we did have. Too young to understand the motive behind their actions, I must say
"I GET IT NOW"
It's like I had tunnell vision all these years. Simple things like running water, clothes and the luxury of being able to swipe a card to pay for things that we probably 90% of the time don't need. How can you think you're taking this for granted when its the norm right? Well sadly we do without even noticing.
I am not here to be Mother Theresa but I do want to spread awareness and to give back where ever I can. It puts a smile on my face to know that I was able to contribute to my kids thanksgiving Food Drive, and help someone that is less fortunate than I am. The recognition is NEVER my goal. I think with good work and being true to yourself recognition will come after and present itself at the right time.
Now that I got that off my chest..
This Black & White look reminded me of a Tuxedo, but with a feminine twist to it. You'll know I'm a sucker for anything off shoulder so I had too.
Outfit: Zara-pants CL-heels Winners- Top
