Gettin Wiggy Wid It

Hey Everybody  Happy Monday to all! I had an awesome weekend! Hope you"ll did too!

So remember my "self-made"wig that I was telling you guys about? I received so many compliments on it! I was literally getting stopped  in the malls to ask who did my hair? LOL Now that's a funny question because its been years since anyone has done my hair, and even with my short do, I just usually get it lined up! Nothing drastic! But I was a little surprised at all the reactions because I've been making wigs for as long as I've known! I even have a few personal clients that I make wigs for! I like being able to switch up my look from time to time! And like most women I get bored so easily when it comes to my hair!

If you're one of those people, how about trying something new for the summer! The littlest changes makes such a big difference!

  • BANGS~ they will drastically change your look, low maintenance, a fun do for the summer, and can soften the face! Another option is you can even try clip in bangs to see how it looks before doing the big chop! Be sure to consult with your stylist when getting such a style, not everyone's face shape is the same, and different type of bangs can be recommended, side swept bangs, blunt bangs, wispy bangs etc.
  • COLOR~ every one has tried it once and even if you think its not for you, then you are absolutely wrong! Color can totally enhance your look and features and can sometimes change your identity! sounds like fun? LOL Sometimes when you've had such a bad color experience you choose never to dye your hair again! Well let me start by telling you box color is not the way to go! You are slowly damaging your hair when using box color! If you're thinking of getting color for the summer but you're not too sure I advice you to look up a colorist in your local area, not a hair stylist but a colorist, make sure to ask how many years of experience they've had under their belt talk to them and tell them exactly what you're looking for! Then take it from there!
  • TIP: Always do a patch/skin test first because you just never know what you might react to! coloring your hair during the summer months is better than coloring it in winter, however if you do continue to color your hair throughout the year make sure to go darker throughout the colder months and lighter throughout summer! A semi-permanent dye is the best recommended dye for women who are trying color out for the very first time!
  • For black hair: NEVER do a chemical relaxer and color, stick to one, and if you do decide to do both because you're stubborn like me make sure to use a rinsed dye which means it washes out after 1week!
  • WIGS~ are fun and the best part about them? You can put them on and take them off in just a mere second! It's a great alternative if you are trying to grow your hair/layers out, if you suffer from hair loss or postpartum hair loss, Alopecia, loss of hairline or if you're just having a bad hair day! If done right no one will never know you're wearing one! The best wigs are ones that are custom made especially for you! Store bought wigs are nice but needs too many adjustments to give the right fit! Have your stylist construct your wig directly on your head or take your head measurements! It'll be worth it in the end! They also give your hair a break from all the heat tools used on a daily/weekly basis
  • Long & short Layers, Bobs, symmetrical cuts, pixie cuts, highlights~ whatever you decide to do consult with your stylist! The shape of your face can determine which style will suit you best, enhance and highlight existing features! Never bring a picture to the salon and expect your hair to look dead on! Every ones hair, face and features are different, and every stylist has his/her own way of styling, cutting and skills. Trust that you have the best stylist and that he/she is individual in their own way that their work speaks for itself! If you don't like something open up your mouth and say it! Never leave the salon without saying exactly how you feel! Stylists hates that, an its our job to fix what you don't like!We don't mind if you say that you don't like it! You are paying your money for what you want! It is a service but we want you to come out of the salon feeling like a new woman! Try these and I promise you, that you and your stylist will have a better relationship! But most importantly confidence is the key, which ever style you choose strutt it with confidence and own it!
  • Extensions, clip ins, Weaves ~ladies Pls Pls Pls if you do decide to wear a weave make sure it looks natural! That's the point of a weave! Yes while everyone might know that it's not your hair you still payed for it so at least make it look like your own! There's nothing that turns me off more than a bad weave! It's not cute! At no time should your tracks be showing, or loose threads sticking out :(  Once again if done right a weave can be your best friend!
  • clip ins are amazing! It can be quite scary at first because of fear that they will fall out to easily! Well I'm here to tell you that is not the case! A lot of celebs have taken to clip ins! Kourtney kardashian is famous for those while her sister Kim prefers to get hers sewed in! Kourtney's hair is very thin and her clip ins has yet to embarrass her! Yes it can be used in black hair also because our hair is more textured it will hold the clip in very well! I do advise however when using clip ins in black hair go to your local beauty supply store and buy the hair of your choice, then have your stylist attach/sew in the clips! The reason for that is with black hair clip in extensions the quality of the hair usually sucks! So perhaps choosing your own will last longer in the future! They can be washed and conditioned and reused again and again!
  • Natural Hair ~ Keep it moisturized on a regular! NH tends to loose its moisture quite fast because of its texture! Deep condition twice a month, and always follow up with a moisture balance conditioner! DO trim ends every 6wks to ensure healthy growth and leave no room for split ends! Fun do's for NH can consist of; twist outs, cornrows, krimpy do's, and heat straightening!
What ever you choose to do this summer just have fun with it!And strut it because you own it!
Sorry for the rant!

Hey Dolls hopefully next time I speak to you I will be lounging away somewhere in NYC! Yes, I'm supposed to be going this weekend! I'm more looking forward to shopping than lounging but I'm sure it will be a good experience overall!

So those of you that follow me on twitter, knows that I was working on a wig! Which I twit pic'd when It was complete! Finally I can get to wear it now! I am going through a transformation where I'm going to let my hair grow out a bit! I will still be working with my short do but just a tad bit longer! The transitioning stage from short hair to long hair is not pretty, especially when your sides are shaved low like mine! So it does start to look all wild and crazy, which was why I decided to make a wig! This is a good tip for ladies trying to grow their hair out, wigs make it faster, very low maintenance, and its cute! It also gives your hair a break from the constant heat styling! Best of all if done right no one knows you're wearing a wig! (forget that I just announced to the world that I'm wearing one) LOL so stay tuned to see my wig!
You guys have never seen me with full bangs!
For those who asked, I'm wearing Essie Vermillionaire on my toes! I've gotten a pedicure twice and applied the same color! I'm in love with it and not quite ready to move on to another color just yet!

On another note where's all my New Yorker followers at? Where in is Manhattan Top shop located? (now I know there's probably tons in NYC so just give me the closer or easiest location! I love that store and I've been swooning over everything online! Unfortunately we don't have any top shop stores in Canada, however, there is a place downtown that distributes top shop but its not the greatest selection! So hit me up on twitter, or by email or even down below in the comment box! There's no way I'm going to NYC and missing Top shop!

I just discovered a new shopping spot here in my city, I love it!  Don't you love it when that happens? I'll show you all my cool finds in another post!  Talk to you guys soon enjoy the rest of your week!

Hope every one is enjoying the week thus far! I've had a very busy and productive week! Don't you just love it when you can cross everything off your to do list? Yes I make lists, It's the only way to keep sane and remember what I need to do through out the day! I swear to you if I don't make a list my entire day falls apart, and I'm running around like a chicken  with its head cut off!

It's been a rainy week here in Toronto! Bah! Not complaining because its better than snow! And the sun does come out occasionally, allowing me to sneak in some pics just at the right time!  (thank you) Cause if anyone knows Tysha James you know that my hair and rain don't mix! My hubby says isn't that all women? Uh no! I've seen plenty of women walk around in the rain and couldn't care less if it poured on their head! Just let the tiniest drop of water touch my hair and I'm running for cover like I just saw a bomb! Don't you hate it when you get a fresh perm/relaxer and water touches your hair! Not a cute look!

#Quit playing Face...(my hubby kept saying the rain is coming down run for cover! he already knows I don't play that! )
Anyways this dress reminds me of those lifesaver candies! hence the name of the post! Do they even sell those anymore? I love this dress its a new purchase from h&m I was going to get the top version to it but then I saw the dress which was a better buy! I paired it with my BCBG heels to tone down all the colors going on! I originally wanted to wear my Prada's but I decided to give them a break! They've been on some heavy rotation this this week and last!

#Hair Problems who would have thought! So I've been on Tumblr a lot lately in search of some hair inspiration! I'm dying to switch up my hair but I've done almost everything You can possibly think of. Any suggestions? They are much needed! Please and Thank You

Anyways I'm gone to attend my motherly duties.. LOL I don't know what they'd do without me..

This is a normal day at my house, don't know how I deal!

Daughter; Mom where's my back pack, where's my DS
Hubby; Where's my keys, what jeans did I wear yesterday, where's all my clean socks
Baby Dee; walks around the house attached to my leg all night long!
Sigh...... goodnight

Jeans Day!

Hey Dolls, Just a quick post, before I shoot out the door!

It took me forever to get ready this morning as usual, between watching maury, checking my phone for twitter updates and trashing my closet for something to wear, I tend to get dressed in Sloooooooow motion every day! Anyways This was Fridays outfit! Thank god I got a few pics before the rain came down!

The blazer is a new purchase that I got from Zara! God I love that store! There's never a moment that I've walked in that store and not find something! NEVER! As soon as I seen this blazer I knew there was an empty hanger in my closet waiting patiently to be introduced to this fabulous purchase!

On to the Next...Jeans, Jeans, Jeans I own so many but hardly even wear them! Growing up, that's all I wore so they've been on the back burner for sometime! I still wear them now and then depends on the occasion(I wear them a lot when I'm out doing activities with the kiddies) or if I don't feel like Glamming it up for the day, then I'll draw for the jeans!

And you've already been introduced to these Betsey Johnson bow shoes! Aren't they FAB? Anywho gotta go now but I will talk to you guys on twitter throughout the day! You know how I do! LOL
Take care guys!
xoxo Ty

You See Right Thru Me!

I'd like to say thank you for all the sweet comments on my last post! I hardly ever bring up my mom because It's an extremely hard thing for me to talk about and at age 26 I still don't think that I've had closure! As the days go by I am slowly healing! Any-who the comments were greatly appreciated!

So today's outfit was quite Interesting! I think I almost gave the senior people of Toronto a heart attack! Not to mention my hubby! The weather was extremely beautiful today, it was a breezy 19 degrees in the city, so I felt like wearing something airy and colorful! I've had this ASOS top for quite some time now but I decided to save it for summer! I'm happy I did! I love the color and the sheerness of it!
While I was getting dressed this morning my hubby asked me if I knew that my shirt was "see through" Can I just express how much I hate the word see through? See through to me is clear! Like a glass is see through! Anyways then he goes on to saying I thought for minute you weren't wearing a bra! Well now since when did I become so risque'? And not to mention I was at my beauty supply store getting a few products and hair stuff for the salon when I over heard this older group of ladies whispering about my "see through" top while shaking their heads. *Lets not even get into what they were wearing*  It's always those type of people who have the most to say!
I am not one to get easily bothered by others and I could care less if you're talking about me, but every one has their own sense of style and for some one to directly frown upon another person's style is just an act of ignorance! I might not like what you're wearing but I will keep that to my self and not let it be known to the world because its your business and its your style, so why would I make it my issue? If you ain't paying me by the minute to pick you an outfit I could care less what you wear! Case closed!

And because I am a stylist I have the freedom of dressing however I want In and out of work, so why am I going to be walking around the city wearing dress suits to please some one else! Like Tamar would say "Get a life.com"
* This is my new picture spot its so deserted and that's what I love about it*

Other than all that drama I had a great day, the weather is getting warmer and I am getting happier, Can't You tell? LOL Oh and thx to my sis Elle for taking these last minute pics, (my hubby was M.I.A) I needed to show you guys this amazing top!

xoxo Ty

A Mother's Love!

So I'm kind of late on this post because the day is almost done, but I figured why not post what I'm wearing out to dinner tonight! I'm actually already dressed, so I begged the hubby to take a few shots of my outfit! I've been dressed and ready to go but this Laker vs Dallas game has all his attention at the moment!
Grrrrrr I am starving, and I'm about to whip out some pots and pans and just cook my own meal right about now! But I guess I can't complain since he is the one treating me to dinner right? Ugh! Anyways on to another note,

It is Mothers day and This is a very touchy subject for me so the only words that I can leave you with is appreciate your mother, Tell her you love her everyday and always let her know how special she is to you, because every body dies but not every body lives! I wish that my mom was here with me right now, And I regret not saying everything I wanted to say to her! RIP mom and I love you more than life itself! Thanks for making me the incredible person that I am today I owe it all to you! Love You Mom!

I would like to say a very Happy Mothers day to all the mothers and superwoman around the globe! There's no love like a mother's love, and the bond that we share with our kids! Keep up the good work, cause no one can never take our place!

xoxo Ty
