SHREDDED

Can we all say it together TGIF! While you guys are reading this post I'm probably already on my way to F21 to get some shopping done! Usually F21 is a hit and miss for me, today is definitely a HIT! I did some quick browsing yesterday so I know exactly what I'm going for today! *let's keep my fingers crossed and hope there's still sizes left* I'm mostly going for chunky knits and a few tops, but you know that never happens right? I swear every F21 is set up where the jewelery section is directly beside the cash register! LOL and guess what they're #WINNING cause it always works! (On me at least, or maybe that's just my compulsive shopper syndrome kicking in)
Wearing: BCBG blazer, Marshall's top, Zara Leggings, Icon booties, Gucci bag, Dior sunglasses, Aldo earrings
I will be sure to do a post on my purchases! On another note I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner! 2012  O_o  It feels weird just writing it! If you're a procrastinator like I am then chances are you haven't started shopping as yet. I'm thinking of giving gift cards for everybody this year, I know the whole point of gift giving is putting the thought into it, but who doesn't get excited about gift cards? You get to pick what you want! Sounds like a plan to me!
Anywho, The blazer from my last post was from BCBG, a few people wanted to know! The blazer that I'm wearing In this post is also from BCBG. Can't get enough of their blazers quality and detail is always on point!
Okay so time for Friday's Hot topic

HOT TOPIC

Is it cool for your bff to copy your style? (like down to having the exact same wedding dress you had on your wedding) and everything else that you do? And how do you deal with a friend like that?
My Answer: Personal style is called that for a reason! Immediately when my reader suggested that I brought that up as a hot topic I immediately remembered this pic...
(Khloe Kardashianand BFF seen wearing the same outfit)

Now why would you want to look like your best friend, matching outfit and all! I just think wearing the same outfit as your girl the same night, same place, is just crossing "girl-code" as we know it! You can't help if another woman walks in wearing the same outfit as you but not your side kick? Copying someone down to the T just tells you that she secretly wants to be you, there's something that you're doing right that she likes and wants to mimic, And there's nothing wrong with that but there's a limit! There's a way to say things to people without hurting their feelings! If that was my friend I would help her find her personal style as oppose to copying mine, when you go shopping, TELL her that this top or skirt would look amazing on her and that she could pull it off better because she more busty or curvier (highlight her best features and make her see that you and her have two different body shapes) so what looks good on you might not look good on her!)  Eventually she'll see the light, and come around!

  1. The blazer is fab!!! You always look so amazing:-) As far as the copying, it is lame to wear the same outfit as a friend or anybody that you are associated with closely. Although, nothing is new under the sun and everybody copies everything when it comes to fashion.

  7. That blazer is HOT! You are right...the detail is amazing.

Wanting to dress exactly like someone else is what we call here in the DMV is "high school kings dominion" When were in HS we used to dress alike to go to the amusment park. Operative words HIGH SCHOOL! I love your advice as to how to deal with that. Kudos!

  8. The detail on that blazer is amazing!!!!

I totally despise friends or family that try to look exactly like you. I even had to start shopping solo b/c an ex friend of mine used to pick up everything I picked up in stores and try to wear hers the same way I wore mine. I don't mind people I'm close to getting inspiration from me but I can't with the ones who want to BE you (that's the reason I only shop and really hang out with my sister)

  9. This is so funny because Juanette (fashionnette-work.blogspot.com) hung out this weekend and we had on VERY similar outfits. And I swear to you that it wasn't intentional. We just have style ESP or something. Once we realized it, we laughed and kept moving.

But I think is a difference from wearing similar things and wearing the exact same outfit!

PS. I'm loving your all black ensemble!

  12. Again, another fab look! Love, love, love that blazer (as well as the one from the previous post)! Hope you find some good stuff at F21

As far as the BFF thing goes, no it is not cool to intentionally dress alike or for your BFF to steal your style. I hate that

  13. I got married last year and my best friend was the maid of honour and i shared all the planning details with her. We had to scale down and didnt get some of the things i loved , like white doves, etc. I was so disappointed that i coudnt afford to have all these things for my wedding but kept things into perspective that i was marrying my best friend and all this stuff didnt matter. To cut the long story short, my best friend got married this year kept all her planning details to her self. To find out on her wedding day that she had copied all my unique weddings ideas to a T. She also incorporated all those ideas that i ended up scraping because of finances . I was shocked. Some people told me it was an honour to be copied . Is it , or was it spiteful.

  16. Ty, you look amazing. I really love the detail on the back of your blazer. Your accessories are on point too:-)

The BFF thing, It irritates me when someone tries to copy everything I wear. I think there is a difference between being inspired by someone and completely biting there style.

  20. LOVE your blazer!

& like you said, personal style is just that; personal. so it shouldn't be duplicated by your bff. not cool! they say imitation is the highest form of flattery but, i think its lame...lol. just one girls opinion ;-)

  21. I wish had seen this post earlier. I had a friend who would do this to me and I was so annoyed. I too think copying is lame! I ended up telling her she needed to find her own personal style and even tried to help find it. She has great taste and beautiful clothes but no style which was weird to me.

Anywhoo, I came across this post as I'm reading your blog and catching up. Your style is SICK!!!! meant in the good way! LOL! :D
