Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Canada lacks in major fashion trends? Like you guys should know by now, fashion runs through my veins. I find it really disappointing and depressing when I look on fashion sites or magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar, only to find out that the articles of clothing in there, is nowhere to be found in Canadian malls. International countries are so fashion forward , and when it comes to Canada, it is virtually impossible to find a trend. I mean, if people from international countries had to come to Canada, they would notice that 99.9% of Canadian citizens look the same and lacks originality. That other 2% are unique individuals who crave fashion, and is always looking for the next best thing, even if it means creating looks yourself ! Most girls in Toronto, where I'm from, wear TNA'S, Ugg boots , and Coach purses and/ or wristlets. Please don't be misunderstood, there is nothing wrong with that, but it feels like that's all people go cuckoo for. I feel that Canada is really late on fashion trends and even stores. Can you believe Victoria Secret Pink line just opened a couple of days ago, or that Juicy Couture is going to be opening in a few days. What is really going on here ? For example, just the other day I went shopping with my sisters. If anyone can remember from my earlier posts, I did a post called HOW TO WEAR THE CHAMBRAY SHIRT. Can you believe people are going gaga for chambray's, when they were out for how long now. Anyways, I went into Forever 21 at Fairview mall, and I seen the chambray shirt that I have been searching for a while now.( I purchased a chambray earlier from American Eagle, but this Forever 21 chambray was darker and fit better )only to find out they only had one more shirt left, and the last size just had to be an extra small. I walked over to the register and asked the employee working there if there were anymore "Chambray's"left! This girl had no idea of what I was talking about, up until now I still believed she thinks I was speaking in another language. Don't get me wrong, I know not everyone is fashion conscious, but if you are given an opportunity to work in a multi- million dollar clothing store chain, wouldn't you do a bit of research? Anyways, there's more to the story lol. I then went into Zara which is every girls' heaven on the hunt for this new edgy blazer which had ruching on the sides. Once again, I had a disappointing day considering the fact that they haven't received it in as yet. I went up to this employee, and asked a few questions on whether this store was going to be receiving this blazer. I found this funny, because suddenly we had switched roles.I was the employee, and she was the shopper. She had no clue what ruching was , or no clue about the existence of this blazer. She had that deer caught in the headlights kind of look. At one point I even had to tell her how much this blazer cost, what materials the jacket was made out of, and that this blazer was on their website. Hmm.. basically, what I'm saying is CANADA, COME ON ! LET'S BE FASHION FORWARD LIKE THE REST OF THE WORLD. CANADA BEING FASHION FORWARD + FASHIONISTA'S / FASHIONISTO'S = BETTER , RICHER ECONOMY AND HAPPY FASHION PEOPLE ! After all, this blog is called ShopNowSaveLater.
